Canada Recap 2/3 - Mountains and Mining

Im zweiten Teil unseres Fotorückblicks dreht sich alles um die Gegend der Kootenay Mountains im westlichen Teil von BC.
Hohe, weitläufige Berge, endlose Wälder, steiniger Boden und unzählige Überbleibsel aus Zeiten des Silberabbaus kennzeichnen diese Region.
Ein paar Tage verbrachten wir in der kulturellen Hauptstadt der Kootenays, Nelson.
Die restliche Zeit bewohnten wir eine im Sommer lehrstehende Berghütte inmitten alter Bergbauruinen.
Mann kann sagen, dass uns die Gegend ziemlich beeindruckt hat, aber
Bilder sagen mehr als Worte...

The second part of our photo recap is all about the Kootenay Mountains in the western part of BC.
Big, vast mountains, cedar trees and old mining sides from the silver rush in the 19th century are 
significant for this area.
We stayed around Nelson the Kootenay Capital for a few days. After that we've checked out an area somewhere in the mountains and stayed at a winter cabin between old mining features.
The whole area is pretty impressive but the photos gonna speak for themselve...

Canada Recap 1/3 - Desert and Dunes

Der erste Teil unseres Fotorückblicks dreht sich um die Wüsten und Steppenlandschaften zwischen Kamloops und Kelowna.
Leider sind wir, wie auch schon im letzten Jahr, in Kelowna kaum radgefahren, dem Wetter sei dank.
Drei der insgesamt fünf Regentage (in 3 Monaten) hatten wir in Kelowna. 
Kann man aber mit leben, sagen wir. 
Während unserer Zeit in Kanada sind wieder einige Bilder enstanden und unsere Favoriten
wollen wir niemandem vorenthalten.
Vielleicht können wir ja ein wenig das Fernweh wecken?!

Like the title says this post is all about the desert style landscapes between Kamloops and Kelowna.
Unfortunately in Kelowna we didn't get that much riding under our belts, same like last year.
But who is complaining about five days of rain during a three months road trip?
The following pics are one part of our favorites from the last journey.
